Messiah
Dune Messiah, by Frank Herbert is the second book in the Dune series. I enjoyed the first chapter most because it opens not from the usual perspective. This book also challenges the protagonist Paul a little more than the first book. The challenges are both emotional and physical. Both I found were missing in the previous book, but I still find the first book more entertaining for various reasons.
This book possessed all the great world building I expected of Mr. Herbert. I have to say of all the science fiction writers I've read Frank Herbert is the best. He gives context where needed which helps with the flow of every page.
Character wise. Just like the first book, Dune Messiah's secondary characters were far more interesting than the protagonist. Paul does go through the struggle mentioned but its not quite enough. His abilities leave him prepared for everything which makes interactions boring. The secondary characters go through far more struggle and are deeper.
I recommend this book to science fiction fans and will be continuing the series.
