This was one of the better researched books in terms of time period objects, architecture, and clothing. The story was interesting to a degree because of inventiveness. Its character and location names are what I found to be inventive.

Overall, I'm unable to give this book four stars because of technical issues. These issues involve show, don't tell, rewording of descriptions previously used, and the story being overwhelmed with exposition.
