Volumes 3 and 4

The Hellboy comics are written and drawn by Mike Mignola. Volume three of the omnibus being reviewed is called The Wild Hunt and the fourth volume is titled In Hell. Combined, they dive deeper into Hellboy's origins and provide adventure along the way.

After finally finishing the fourth omnibus, adding Hellboy to my favorite superhero list can happen. I find him to be a bit reluctant in accepting his past. A past many of us would likely struggle to come to grips with. Part of it is a immense resilience to injury. This is something to like, and unlike Superman's invulnerability, Hellboy's is graphic.

I did enjoy these last two volumes like the previous. However, I do feel much of the battles and one on one fights were a bit too easy. I think part of Hellboy's charm is his dialogue and overall world.
